Oia is the first traditional village in Europe inhabited mainly by families of seafarers in previous decades. It is world famous for its magical sunset offered by the location that the Venetian fortress has been built at the end of the paved pedestrian walkway of Oia. From here steps lead to another traditional harbor village, Amoudi, from which one can admire the sunset and enjoy fresh fish and traditional dishes in taverns.

The traditional village of Oia is located in the NW part of the island of Santorini, 13 km from the island’s capital, Fira. Santorini is famous for its black and red beaches, which have been created by several volcanic eruptions in previous centuries. The island stands out for its uniqueness of the impressive Caldera and the two volcanic cones in the middle, one of which even today is active. In the earlier times the island had different names like Stongyli, Kallisti Thera.

The island of Santorini is famous for its unique tasty wines due to its sulphide soil, as well as for the  cherry shaped cherry tomatoes, white aubergines, katsounia which is a different type of  cucumber, capers and beans.
